Mon 14th: Drawing & Sculpting The Human Form
Students will begin by learning proportions and drawing techniques of the human form which will assist them in the construction of a small scale clay sculpture of the human figure. Students will be introduced to sculptural maquette construction and construct small scale armatures using wire to form the structural base of their clay work.
Tue 15th: Portrait Drawing & Painting
This workshop will intensively look at improving drawing and painting techniques to achieve realistic portraits. It will cover proportion and technical processes and materials. The session will result in finished works on paper and painting on canvas using acrylics.
Wed 16th: Sculpting The Human Face
This workshop looks at sculpting the human face by examining how to construct accurate representations through looking at the anatomical structure of the face and how it is formed through layers. Students will complete a finished life size head sculpture.
Thu 17th: Mixed Media Drawing
Students will work on large scale works on paper that combine various techniques and processes across a variety of media to create layered and textural completed works
Fri 18th: Painting Techniques (Glazing with acrylics)
This workshop aims to introduce students to the painting process of glazing. This technique involves the creation of a monochromatic underpainting which is then covered with successive thin transparent or semi transparent layers of colour. Students will complete final painting on canvas.
