Co-tutored by Brock Q. Piper and Anita Lester, this specialist program offers young teens who are in grades 6 – 8 in 2020 the opportunity to refine a range of techniques grounded in contemporary art, which will foster creativity and establish a foundation for their art practice that can be carried forward into their teenage years.

In today’s society of immediate technological gratification, the process of art making provides students with an alternative creative outlet, and we endeavour to make the pursuit of excellent outcomes a fun and rewarding task within the age expectations of our programs. Students will spend a number of weeks developing a contemporary drawing, painting and sculpture project, so that each student completes the term with three major outcomes as well as a number of supporting studies. Classes have an atmosphere that is inspiring and supportive, with a beginning, middle and end to each process so that students learn not only about art but about effort and consistency.
