These courses are taught by multidisciplinary Melbourne artist Katie Eraser, who specialises in contemporary painting, drawing, assemblage and sculpture.
Designed for teenagers aged 12-16 years, the focus of the course rests on exploring different ways of self-expression, and image building, using a wide range of contemporary techniques in either painting or drawing. Students will work in a range of both traditional and contemporary materials to create a series of dynamic and artistically informed artworks that expand and enrich their art making skills.
Throughout the term, students will look to a range of contemporary artists that will act as stimuli, and will provide an understanding of art history. Please note that the painting class also involves a strong element of drawing.
As classes will be offered in an online space, students will benefit from whole class demonstrations, as well as 1:1 tutorials in each session, providing students a rigorous and engaged learning journey.
