Art Competition Terms & Conditions


1.1   The within terms and conditions (the “terms and conditions”) relate to an art competition entitled “My World at Home” (the “Competition”) which Art Encounters, its respective licensees, assigns, parents, affiliates and/or subsidiary companies (the “Company”) intends to run in 2020.

1.2  By entering this competition, (the “Artist”) accepts these terms and conditions as set out hereinafter and the entrant further accepts that the Company reserves the right, at any time, to amend, modify, vary, or discontinue the terms of this competition.


2.1   The Competition is open to all living artists between the ages of 5 – 18 years old as at 9th August 2020. The age group selected upon entering must reflect the Artist’s age as at the date of entry. Proof of age may be sought by way of official documentation such as a birth certificate.

2.2    Entries are permitted from the following geographical regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, South America, and The Middle East.


3.1    The Competition shall open at 6am (AEST) on the 10th June 2020 and shall close at 11.59pm (AEST) on the 9th August 2020. Entries received after this date and time shall not be considered for entry under any circumstances.

3.2    In order to enter the competition, all entrants must complete an online application form at (the “Entry Form”) and follow all directions therein. All images uploaded for the purposes of completing the entry process shall not be manipulated or otherwise artificially or digitally enhanced by the Artist.

3.3.   The submitted entry (the “Work”) must be an original creation, A4 in size, and in pencil (graphite, charcoal, pastel or coloured pencils) or paint (watercolour, acrylic or oil).

3.4    Only one entry per entrant is allowed. If more than one entry is received from an entrant, only the first entry will be judged.

3.5     The Work must have been completed between the 1st April 2020 and the 9th August 2020.

3.6     There will be no entry fee charged to the Artist.


4.1      The Grand Prize will be awarded to one entry from the Competition: $1,000 AUD, a Derwent Box Set (valued at $350.00 AUD) and an Art Supply Hamper (valued at $150.00 AUD).

4.2      Each of the following prizes will be awarded to one entry from each age group:

4.3      First Prize will include $500.00 AUD, a Derwent Pencil Box Set (valued at $350.00 AUD),and an Art Supply Hamper (valued at $150.00 AUD).

4.4      Second Prize will include $250.00 AUD, a Derwent Pencil Box Set (valued at $350.00 AUD) and an Art Supply Hamper (valued at $75.00 AUD).

4.5      Third Prize will include $100.00 AUD, a Derwent Pencil Box Set (valued at $350.00 AUD) and an Art Supply Hamper (valued at $50.00 AUD).


5.1      The winners of the Competition will be finalised by 12pm (AEST) on the 23rd August 2020 and will be contacted directly.

5.2      The judges shall be appointed by the Company in such number and of such qualification as it sees fit at its sole discretion. The Judges’ decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into. All works will be judged anonymously and there will be no segregation by country, genre or style etc.

5.3      The winners work will be published at from 24th August 2020.


6.1      By completing the Entry Form, the Artist agrees to the Company collecting, retaining, processing, or otherwise utilising the Artist’s personal information solely for the purposes of processing the Artist’s entry to the competition, the promotion and administration of the competition. The Artist’s personal information will not be shared with third parties or otherwise processes for alternative purposes without the Artist’s consent.

6.2      The Artist hereby warrants that they own the copyright to the Work and further warrant that the work contains no feature or aspect or material that constitutes a breach of a third party’s intellectual property.

6.3      The Artist will allow the work to be photographed and reproduced by the Company for the purposes of promoting the Competition including; catalogue, press and publicity and websites. Copyright of all works remains the property of the Artist. Any enquiries for copyright will be referred to the artist.

6.4      It is the responsibility of the winning artists to declare, if relevant, such winnings as income to their local tax authorities and the winning artists shall be wholly liable for any taxes payable and shall indemnify and hold the Company safe and harmless from all claims relating to such taxes and charges. The Company shall in no circumstances be liable for any taxes payable on such awards.
