Mentoring Program for Teens 15+

TERM 3 2017: 17th July - 11th September

TIME: Mondays 5 - 7pm

COURSE CONTENT:

This class is for mature teenager students who are highly committed to developing an individual art practice and are already competent in basic drawing and painting. Students will work on limited structured projects to enhance their understanding of art and different mediums throughout each term. However the main purpose of this group is to assist each student in developing a body of work that feeds their personal interests and visions. This advanced program is open to students aged 15 and over however we may at our discretion admit younger students who fit the requirements for this mode of study. All admissions are subject to an interview with the school's Director to see if the student is ready for this method of learning; please call or email our office to arrange an interview.

Art Techniques for Teens: Wednesdays

TERM 3 2017: 19th July - 13th September

TIME: Wednesdays 5 - 7pm

COURSE CONTENT:

This class is open to students who are in high school and are interested in developing their artistic and creative abilities. We also welcome selected Year 6 primary school students into this group who have demonstrated exceptional ability and commitment to drawing and painting. Throughout the year students engage in a series of studies that range from observational drawing and painting through to personal expression and contemporary art processes. The intention of this class is to provide a relaxed and open atmosphere conducive to the complex nature of this age group while also respecting all of the internal changes that are going on for each of them.  At the same time we stress a consistent work ethic as the foundation for gaining good results.

COST: $425
