Dena Lester
Dena founded Art Encounters in 1998 as a response to the lack of high quality private art education available to children and adults. Dena firmly believes that talent exists in anyone who has a committed attitude. That whoever wants to learn how to become an artist, whatever age, and whatever gender can do so if they make the intention. Over the years her students have gone from absolute beginners to some of the top fine art tertiary institutes in Melbourne.
Amelie Scalercio
Artist's Statement: Recent drawings attempt to dislocate everyday objects and people and place them in a new foreign context where they are read both in relation to the space in which they sit and in relation to each other. New meanings possibly arise, skewing the original condition of the subjects to articulate a somewhat uneasy undercurrent.
Anita Lester
Anita Lester is one of the most popular teacher's at Art Encounters. Anita works in the general workshops for children and runs the open workshop for children on Saturday afternoons. She is a dynamic and inspiring teacher with a leaning towards Steiner education which is her educational background.
